What is Flex?
Efficiency Works Flex gives homes and businesses new ways to join the energy transition – while earning rewards for participating. It’s no longer just about using less energy – it’s about using energy at the right time. Even a little flexibility in when you use energy helps keep the grid reliable.

Flex Thermostat
The Flex Thermostat program helps keep our communities’ electric grid reliable by making temporary temperature adjustments to enrolled internet-connected thermostats during periods of high electricity demand. Adjustments are designed to have minimal impact on comfort, and you’re always in control – you can override them at any time. Incentives are available at enrollment and annually for ongoing participation.
This program is designed for eligible residential-style smart thermostats. Small commercial customers may also qualify if they meet program requirements.
Flex EV – coming soon!
The Flex EV program helps your electric vehicle charge at the most optimal times – when electricity costs are lower and renewable energy is more available. Once enrolled, simply plug in your EV, set your charging preferences (for example, “charged by 6 a.m.”) and the program takes care of the rest. You stay in control: if your plans change, you can override and charge immediately at any time. Incentives are available at enrollment and annually for ongoing participation.
Flex EV is designed for eligible residential-style Level 2 chargers or internet-connected EVs. Commercial customers may also qualify if they meet the eligibility requirements.
