Rawhide isn’t your average coal plant facility — it’s award winning. This guided tour will take you behind the scenes to show how electricity is made for our owner communities, how we protect the environment and what it takes to keep power reliable for the communities we serve. You don’t need a technical background in energy to enjoy this tour; our expert staff will guide us through the facility and answer any questions you may have.
In addition, Platte River is also preparing for a major milestone: retiring Rawhide’s coal unit by Dec. 31, 2029, as part of our long‑term shift toward cleaner energy. Join us for a tour and see how this transition is already taking shape!
