Make the switch to electric
Learn all about EVs for your home or your business.
What are electric vehicles (EVs)?
Electric vehicles (EVs) are vehicles that are powered, fully or partially, by electricity. EVs use electric motors powered by batteries, instead of traditional internal combustion engines fueled by gasoline or diesel. EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions.

What are the benefits of electrifying my fleet?
Electrifying a commercial fleet offers a variety of benefits, typically focused on cost savings, environmental impact and operational efficiency. Switching to electric vehicles (EVs) can reduce fuel and maintenance expenses and enhance a company’s sustainability profile. An electrified fleet can also provide the opportunity to use the EVs as an energy storage system for the business to manage their energy loads.

Commercial business owners can significantly reduce fuel and maintenance costs and lower carbon emissions by switching their fleets to electric vehicles. To help smooth the transition to EVs, the Colorado Energy Office has created a grant for light-, medium- and heavy-duty fleets. Efficiency Works also offers fleet electrification study incentives to help cover the cost of a more in-depth fleet electrification study performed by a listed Efficiency Works service provider. To get started, explore our EV Fleet planner to estimate your current vehicle needs, source available incentives and provide information about needed charging infrastructure.
