Finance your home energy upgrades

Upgrading your home can make it more efficient, lower utility bills, reduce maintenance costs and ensure you’re as comfortable as possible. And while home upgrades can be expensive, your utility provider may offer programs to help finance your next project. Efficiency Works doesn’t endorse any specific financial institutions or lenders; however, you can use the programs below to help explore what financing options are available to you.

Home energy loans


Members of Elevations Credit Union (ECU) in Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland may be eligible for home energy loans to finance energy-efficient upgrades and renewable energy projects like solar panels, new windows and doors, electric vehicle home charging solutions and more.

  • Offered through Elevations Credit Union
  • No money down
  • Finance up to 100% of a qualifying project
  • Low, fixed interest rates
  • 3-, 5-, 7-, 10- and 15-year terms

Projects must be completed by an Efficiency Works service provider. Qualifying HVAC and whole-house fans do not require an Efficiency Works home energy assessment. Other upgrades require a home energy assessment prior to work being completed. Find more information here.

RENU loan


Residential electric customers in Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland be eligible for financing through the Colorado Energy Office Residential Energy Upgrade (RENU) Loan program. Rebate eligibility differs between RENU and Efficiency Works. Please contact Efficiency Works at (877) 981-1888 to confirm rebate eligibility.

  • Loans from $500–$35,000
  • No money down
  • Finance up to 100% of the project cost
  • Low, fixed interest rates
  • 3-, 5-, 7-, 10- and 15-year terms

*Projects must be completed by an authorized RENU Loan contractor. Qualifying HVAC and whole-house fans do not require an Efficiency Works home energy assessment. Other upgrades require a home energy assessment prior to work being completed. Find more information here.

Fort Collins - Epic loan

Fort Collins Utilities residential customers may be eligible to finance Efficiency Works Homes upgrades with a low-rate, no-money-down Epic Loan. This lending offer can also help pay for upgrades made through the Fort Collins renewable energy rebate program, like adding battery and solar systems.

  • No money down
  • Finance up to 100% of the qualifying project cost
  • Repayment on monthly utility bills
  • Borrow up to $50,000
  • 3-, 5-, 7-, 10- and 15-year terms
  • Competitive interest rates: Fort Collins Utilities electric customers qualify with a FICO of 640 and history of on-time bill payment for the last six utility bills.
