Lowe’s invests in high-tech energy efficiency retrofitter
Lowe’s, the giant home improvement retailer with locations all over the Northwest, is getting into the energy efficiency retrofit game with its investment in Bay Area home retrofit company Recurve.
The hardware giant has begun offering Recurve retrofit services in its San Francisco-area stores following an $8 million investment in the company.
The investment opens up the possibility of an expanded marketing campaign to contractors who shop at Lowe’s, according to a report on the deal at CNET.
Recurve is a major provider of energy audit and retrofit construction services in Northern California and, through partner firms, markets in Colorado, New York, Illinois and Missouri. In addition, the company formerly know as Sustainable Spaces has created software to help contractors provide energy audits, analysis and recommendations for clients.
Its pitch to contractors: “Recurve has created an industry-specific software application designed to speed up the process of auditing homes, crunching the numbers, and generating reports — so you can focus on what really counts: identifying your customers’ needs, designing smart solutions, and getting new business on the books.”
